In 1994 we bought Mini Trails Candy Stripper (above) since I wanted a miniature donkey for a pet. He was a yearling then. I quickly fell in love. My husband did, too. :-} I guess the rest is history. We have over 70 wonderful miniature donkeys as of June 2006. We have foals of various colors born year around and have sold donkeys throughout the United States, France, England and as far away as Australia.
We already had the perfect gray dun jack to compliment our herd, so next we added a beautiful spotted jack to add some color. (Little did we know at the time that our Mini Trails would be producing all these chocolate and sorrel colors!) Easter Blaze is 34 1/2", conformationally correct and has a beautiful well-balanced head. He has produced some really nicely spotted foals for us. Blazer's grandfather is Marshall's Bumper Jack of Phil's Pharm and his dam, our own Lucky Penny, is now at Daisydowns Miniature Donkeys in Australia.

Our goals for our breeding program here at Copperas Creek are:
- Breeding for size and correct conformation to continue to preserve the unique qualities of these Miniature Donkeys. I can't stress how important it is to breed carefully to only reproduce the finest you can. Please choose your breeding stock carefully. Just because it's a cheap donkey, doesn't mean it is suitable for reproducing.
- To provide healthy, sound donkeys who have the best start at life that we can give them and to only let them go to homes that will care for them as we have lovingly cared for them. Our foals are socially well adjusted since they are handled by us from birth.
- To continue to promote these donkeys for their wonderful, gentle qualities as pets and companions. They are very intelligent and easy to train. I can't say enough about them. In our opinion, donkeys are truly one of God's finest creatures.
